Job summary

Mirapath is seeking a Data Center Technician to join our field services team in Minnesota. This hands-on role covers installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT infrastructure in customer data centers.

You will work with servers, network gear, racks, cabling, and power systems, collaborating with managers, customers, and vendors to ensure quality deployments. Travel to Minnesota sites is expected, with regular day, swing, and night shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in data center operations or IT infrastructure.
• Experience diagnosing server hardware and connectivity issues.
• Strong understanding of data center operations and server principles.
• Hands-on experience installing enterprise server and networking hardware.
• Experience with fiber optic and copper cabling, labeling, and cable management.
• Basic knowledge of Ethernet, switches, IP connectivity, and structured cabling.
• Basic familiarity with Linux and command-line tools.
• Ability to read rack elevations, cable schedules, and installation drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Professional communication with customers and teams.
• Willingness to work variable shifts and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, rack, stack, upgrade, move, and decommission data center hardware.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot server, hardware, and network issues.
• Install and troubleshoot fiber and copper cabling.
• Manage patch cords and rack connectivity with clean cable management.
• Perform equipment replacements and hardware upgrades.
• Provide on-site and remote hands support for customers and teams.
• Assist with installation of racks, PDUs, consoles, and KVM systems.
• Follow scope of work and installation standards, and change controls.
• Maintain accurate records of work, tickets, and documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, vendors, and technicians to stay on schedule.
• Travel to customer data centers as required.
