Apex Systems is seeking a Data Center Technician II to support network infrastructure operations within a large-scale hyperscale data center environment in New Albany, Ohio. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and documenting critical network hardware and cabling infrastructure that supports mission-critical operations.This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in data centers, structured cabling, telecommunications, network installations, low-voltage systems, hardware deployment, or technical field support. Candidates who are local to the area, willing to relocate, or open to travel for project‑based work are encouraged to apply.
1+ year of hands‑on technical experience in one or more of the following: Data center operationsHardware installationRack and stackTelecommunicationsStructured cablingLow‑voltage systemsTechnical field serviceBreak/fix supportBasic understanding of networking concepts, including switches, routers, fiber optics, and copper connectivityExperience working with technical documentation, tickets, asset records, or inventory management systemsStrong troubleshooting skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently while following documented proceduresAbility to pass required background screenings and site access requirements
Experience supporting network infrastructure within a data center or critical environmentExperience installing and replacing switches, optics, transceivers, power supplies, or network hardware componentsFiber optic installation, testing, cleaning, and troubleshooting experienceFamiliarity with Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Mellanox, NVIDIA, or similar networking platformsTechnical certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, BICSI, FOA, or OSHA 10Willingness to relocate to New Albany, OH or travel to site‑based projects
Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds regularly and move heavier equipment with assistanceAbility to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in confined spacesAbility to distinguish cable and fiber color codesComfortable working in varying data center temperatures and environmentsMust be able to wear required PPE, including safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses, and high‑visibility gearAbility to support rotating schedules, maintenance windows, nights, weekends, and on‑call activities as needed
