Job description

Locations: Boston, MA (Level IV), Salt Lake City, UT (Level III), Reston, VA, Washington, DC, Burbank CA and Richardson, TX

We are seeking experienced Data Center Technicians (Level III & IV) to support critical data center operations, optical transport infrastructure, and customer-facing deployments across multiple locations. This role requires strong hands-on experience with fiber optics, transport networks, data center installations, migrations, troubleshooting, and break/fix activities. Candidates must be comfortable working directly with customers, coordinating with third-party vendors, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform installations, migrations, remediation, decommissioning, and break/fix activities within data center environments.
• Audit and oversee work performed by third-party technicians, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Troubleshoot optical transport networks and conduct fiber testing using OTDRs, optical power meters, VFLs, and related test equipment.
• Interpret engineering documents, Methods of Procedure (MoPs), network diagrams, cut sheets, and cabling plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation and provide customer updates through ticketing systems and direct communication.
• Support structured cabling, fiber optic infrastructure, and connectivity for mission-critical environments.
• Travel up to 50% as needed to support projects in non-home market locations.

Required Qualifications:

• 3-5+ years of experience in data center operations, telecommunications, optical transport, or related technical environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with single-mode and multi-mode fiber, LC connectors, fan-outs, and structured cabling.
• Experience with optical testing, troubleshooting, and transport network support.
• Previous team lead or project coordination experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-availability environments while maintaining quality and safety standards.
