Job summary

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a data center IT technician to support infrastructure installation and maintenance. Work includes evaluating infrastructure needs, coordinating resources, and installing servers, switches, routers, and related cabling in a regulated environment.

You will manage cabling, rack mounting, power and cooling coordination, and documentation using Excel/SharePoint. The role requires adherence to safety policies and industry standards with strong problem-solving

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of data center hardware and cable installation experience.
Knowledge of national standards for data center IT infrastructure (BICSI, TIA-606/TIA-942).
Certifications or vendor-level certifications required within 6 months after hire.

Responsibilities

Evaluate data center infrastructure requirements and coordinate resources for equipment installation.
Coordinate facilities resources (electric, cooling) for high-availability systems.
Install cabling, racks, mounting hardware, and perform end-to-end patching (fiber/copper).
Troubleshoot and replace failed components with system engineers to restore operation.
Maintain and update configuration changes and inventories in appropriate systems.
Follow safety rules and installation standards; keep work area clear and compliant.
Create wiring/cabling diagrams in Visio or CAD; use Excel/SharePoint for tracking.
Monitor IT and environmental systems and coordinate vendor repairs.
Support FBI inventory tracking and equipment maintenance as needed.
