Job summary

Google LLC is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and server software in our on-site data centers. You will handle racks, networks, routers and switches while coordinating with teams on installations and contingency planning.

The role emphasizes physical work, teamwork, and readiness for non-standard hours. Prior IT data center experience and a Google IT certificate are preferred for this challenging position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Completion of the online Google IT Support Professional Certificate program.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
• Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose straightforward issues with equipment or infrastructure as they arise.
• Maintain the security and integrity of data, track media to check for standard data security issues per Google standards.
• Disassemble equipment that has reached end-of-life via part replacement or maintenance in a team setting.
• Repair, fix, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, machines, or infrastructure with defined solutions.
