Job summary

INSPYR Solutions is seeking an experienced Data Center Technician in Santa Clara, CA to perform rack and stack deployments, cabling, and hardware installation. You will work with server, storage, GPU hardware, and networking equipment, ensuring proper airflow, labeling, and asset tracking.

Responsibilities include following runbooks, validating hardware, and collaborating with Data Center and Network Engineers. Candidates should lift up to 50 lbs and be familiar with ESD practices.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on data center experience.
• Experience with rack and stack deployments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined rack spaces.
• Familiarity with ESD procedures and safe handling of sensitive hardware.
• Ability to read rack elevation diagrams and deployment guides.
• Experience with enterprise hardware (Dell, HPE, Supermicro).
• Strong attention to detail.

• Perform basic hardware validation, LED checks, port verification, and physical troubleshooting.
• Maintain asset tracking, labeling, and documentation.
• Collaborate with Data Center Engineers, Network Engineers, and operations teams.
• Adhere to ESD, safety, security, and operational best practices.
• Support decommissioning and removal of end-of-life hardware.

Location: Santa Clara, CA
Duration: 12+ Months
Shift: Sunday - Wednesday, 8:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Responsibilities

• Perform rack, stack, and cable installation of servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and GPU hardware.
• Install rails, mount equipment, label assets, and maintain proper cable management and airflow standards.
• Connect and verify power, fiber, and copper network cabling.
• Support hardware moves, adds, and changes (MACs) across data center facilities.
• Execute deployment activities following detailed runbooks and engineering documentation.
• Perform basic hardware validation, LED checks, port verification, and physical troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate asset tracking, labeling, and infrastructure documentation.
• Collaborate with Data Center Engineers, Network Engineers, and operations teams during deployments and migrations.
• Adhere to ESD, safety, security, and operational best practices.
• Support the decommissioning and removal of end-of-life hardware.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise or large-scale data center environments.
• Strong experience performing rack and stack deployments.
• Knowledge of:
• Server and network rack layouts
• Structured copper and fiber cabling
• Power Distribution Units (PDUs)
• Experience installing enterprise server platforms including Dell, HPE, Supermicro, or equivalent hardware.
• Ability to read rack elevation diagrams, installation guides, and deployment instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work within confined rack environments.
• Familiarity with ESD procedures and safe handling practices for sensitive hardware.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to execute tasks with precision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in hyperscale, AI, HPC, or GPU-dense data center environments.
• Exposure to GPU infrastructure and high-performance computing platforms.
• Knowledge of hot aisle/cold aisle containment best practices.
• Experience supporting large hardware refresh, migration, or deployment projects.
• Basic Linux operating system familiarity.
