Job summary

InfraServices LLC is seeking a Data Center Technician II to independently perform advanced installation and deployment activities for data center infrastructure across colocation, enterprise, and hyperscale environments. The role emphasizes full row installations, interpretation of engineered drawings, and ownership of installation QA/QC processes.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Independently install and align server cabinets, racks, containment systems, and supporting infrastructure.
• Perform full row installations and validate layouts using plans and measurements.
• Pull, route, terminate, and dress copper, coax, and fiber optics per standards.
• Install patch panels, splices, enclosures, rPDUs, and related hardware.
• Mentor Technician I and support team on site.
• Travel regionally and nationally up to 75% of the time.

Job Summary:

The Data Center Technician II is responsible for independently performing advanced installation and deployment activities for data center infrastructure projects in colocation, enterprise, regional, and hyperscale environments. This role focuses on full row installations, interpretation of engineered drawings, and ownership of installation quality and QA processes. The Technician II serves as a technical resource on-site and provides guidance to less experienced technicians while supporting new build, expansion, and MACD projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Independently install and align server cabinets, network racks, ladder rack, containment systems, and supporting infrastructure according to engineered drawings and floor plans
• Perform full row installations and validate layouts using field measurements and project documentation
• Install overhead ladder rack, basket tray, conveyance systems, and fiber trough infrastructure
• Pull, route, terminate, and dress copper, coax, and fiber optic cabling according to customer and industry standards
• Install patch panels, splice trays, enclosures, rPDUs, tap boxes, cable whips, FAP panels, and DC loop systems
• Rack and secure servers, switches, storage arrays, optical transport equipment, and related hardware
• Perform fiber cleaning, inspection, continuity testing, and basic troubleshooting
• Maintain ownership of QA/QC processes including punch lists, installation verification, and closeout activities
• Interpret engineered drawings, MOPs, and scopes of work to ensure proper installation execution
• Create and maintain accurate labeling, redlines, and as-built documentation
• Support and mentor Technician I team members
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, including proper housekeeping of tools, materials, and installation debris
• Follow all Company safety policies, customer site requirements, and established safe work practices at all times
• Accurately complete and submit timecards and other required administrative records in a timely manner
• Travel regularly to job sites, which may include overnight stays
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma, general education degree (G.E.D.), or related trade school education

Experience:

• Two to five years of experience in data center installation, structured cablings, or telecommunications deployment
• Experience performing full row installations and installation QA/QC activities required
• Experience in colocation or hyperscale environments preferred
• Must have or obtain and maintain OSHA 10 Construction Training Card
• Must have or obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR Certification

Technical Skills:

• Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
• Strong understanding of structured cabling systems and installation standards
• Proficiency with copper and fiber optic infrastructure including MPO, LC, SM/MM fiber, and Cat6/6A systems
• Ability to interpret engineered drawings, floor plans, and installation documentation
• Strong knowledge of cable management, grounding/bonding, bend radius, and labeling standards
• Experience with fiber cleaning, inspection, and continuity testing
• Familiarity with switches, network equipment, and optical transport systems preferred
• Exposure to busway, RPPs, PDUs, and rPDUs preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
• Must have a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets Company requirements
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to stand, bend, climb, and work overhead for extended periods
• Ability to safely use ladders, lifts, and power tools
• Ability to work in active construction and live data center environments
• Ability to wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Ability to work long and unpredictable hours and flexible schedules, including nights and weekends as required
• Ability to travel regionally and nationally up to 75% of the time

$35 - $42 an hour
