Job summary

NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Technician to support electrical, mechanical, and fire life safety systems in a high-availability data center environment.

The role emphasizes operational integrity, regulatory compliance, and rapid issue resolution. You will participate in preventive maintenance, collaborate with contractors, and ensure customer uptime while controlling costs.

Qualifications

• Understand electrical distribution, mechanical systems, and fire life safety in data centers
• Knowledge of NEC/NFPA codes and safety standards
• Industrial safety practices (lockout/tagout, arc flash)
• Experience with blueprints/schematics and facility monitoring systems
• Ability to coordinate with contractors and track maintenance programs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Capability to work in high-stress environments and shift work

Responsibilities

• Develops approaches to minimize costs and improve efficiency
• Maintain chilled water and HVAC systems
• Manage electrical distribution and UPS through switchgear to customer load
• Oversee Fire Life Safety systems including sprinklers and detectors
• Test performance of electromechanical assemblies
• Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams
• Inspect parts for defects and install components
• Operate and monitor data center facilities systems
• Collaborate with engineers on standards and process optimization
• Coordinate with contractors and CF Ops Lead Technician on maintenance programs
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance
• Ensure data center uptime and cost efficiency
• Attend to after-hours issues as required
• Maintain regular, predictable attendance
