Job summary

Google Fort Wayne is seeking a Data Center Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain servers and components in a fast-paced data center. You will work on networks, routers, and related systems, with a focus on hands-on hardware and server software, contributing to high-availability infrastructure.

Roles require non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, plus the ability to lift 50 lb and work in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with component-level repairs and troubleshooting on IT equipment.
• Experience diagnosing OS, server hardware, or networking protocols.
• Ability to lift 50 lb (23 kg) and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
• Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment or infrastructure.
• Maintain the security and integrity of data per Google security standards.
• Disassemble equipment reaching end-of-life in a team setting.
• Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and infrastructure.
