Job summary

EOS IT Solutions is seeking a Data Center Technician to join our infrastructure engineering team. The role focuses on installing, servicing, and maintaining low voltage cabling and data center equipment to ensure reliable connectivity.

Responsibilities include racking and stacking equipment, cleaning connections, following SOPs, and coordinating with teammates to complete work orders safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certification in a technology services/technical discipline.
• Experience installing, servicing, and maintaining low voltage cable infrastructure systems.
• Ability to install, terminate, and test low voltage cables.
• Familiarity with BICSI, ANSI, EIA/TIA, and local/National Electric Code requirements.
• Industry certifications preferred (e.g., BICSI TECH, Corning TS-LAN500).
• Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and maintain low voltage category cabling and communications cabling.
• Rack and stack equipment; assist with cable management in the infrastructure.
• Clean fiber and copper connections; perform basic troubleshooting.
• Follow MOP and CMOP guidelines.
• Use work ticket systems for infrastructure management.
• Read and validate port maps; perform basic troubleshooting.
• Handle power distribution and cable management tasks.
• Coordinate with team members to complete work orders on time.
• Follow procedures and safety regulations; document results.
• Maintain equipment and supplies inventory as required.
• Respond to emergencies during or after hours to meet SLAs.
• Escalate complex issues to senior staff.
• Conduct service swaps of live networking devices.
• Attend meetings and training as needed.
• Suggest process improvements.
