Job summary

EOS IT Solutions is seeking a Data Center Technician to join our infrastructure engineering team. The primary focus is racking and stacking equipment, pulling cables, and ensuring proper installation and connectivity in data centers, with emphasis on sustainable and repeatable processes.

The role requires installation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of low voltage cabling, adherence to MOP/CMOP guidelines, and collaboration with teammates to meet safety standards and SLAs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certification in a technology services/technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in installing, servicing, and maintaining low voltage cable infrastructure systems.
• Ability to install, terminate, and test low voltage cables.
• Familiarity with industry standards including BICSI, ANSI, EIA/TIA, and local/National Electrical Code.
• Industry and manufacturer-specific certifications preferred (e.g., BICSI TECH, Corning TS-LAN500).
• Strong customer/client service orientation with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to safely drive company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and maintain low voltage cabling and communications cabling.
• Rack and stack equipment; assist with cable management.
• Clean fiber and copper connections; perform basic troubleshooting.
• Follow Method of Procedure (MOP) and Change Method of Procedure (CMOP).
• Operate work ticket systems and interfaces for infrastructure management.
• Read and validate port maps; perform basic troubleshooting.
• Conduct power distribution and cable management tasks.
• Coordinate with team members to complete projects and work orders.
• Follow procedures and safety regulations; provide information to operations management.
• Complete documentation in written and electronic formats.
• Maintain equipment and supplies inventory.
• Respond to emergency situations during or after hours to meet SLAs.
• Escalate complex technical issues to senior team members.
• Conduct Service Swaps of live networking devices.
• Attend meetings and trainings; collaborate to meet targets.
• Step in for Lead Field Technician as needed.
