Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Boardman, Oregon seeks a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical data center facility equipment including generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, and cooling systems.

You will perform rounds, monitor BMS/EPMS, and support change management with detailed technical writing. You will travel between sites as needed, work up to 12-hour shifts, and collaborate with contractors to ensure safety and compliance while reducing downtime and

Qualifications

2+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance experience (or 2+ years electrical plus 1+ year mechanical).
2+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.

Responsibilities

Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLA.
Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLA.
PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
Create technical writing to support change management.
Monitor daily work requests, manage to resolution, and execute projects from conception to completion.
Provide on-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors per established practices and local laws.
Work schedule changes up to 12 hours; some locations have on-call rotations.
Role may support multiple locations/sites.
