Job summary

TEKsystems in Red Oak, TX is seeking experienced Data Center Technicians for a 3-4 month contract to support a large-scale data center build. You will install and deploy fiber optic and copper cabling, perform terminations, and assist with rack and stack in a fast-paced environment.

Night or day shifts available; this onsite role offers overtime opportunities and potential long‑term opportunities based on performance.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of data center cabling experience.
• Experience pulling, routing, dressing, labeling and terminating fiber/copper cabling.
• Familiarity with rack and stack in a data center.
• Ability to work in fast-paced construction or data center environments.

Responsibilities

• Pull, route, and install fiber optic and copper cabling.
• Install backbone fiber and high-count fiber cabling.
• Terminate fiber and copper terminations.
• Perform cable dressing, labeling, and cable management.
• Assist with rack and stack activities.
• Support fiber testing and troubleshooting with Fluke/OTDR as needed.
• Maintain safety standards and installation procedures.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely completion.

Job description

Overview

We are seeking experienced Data Center Technicians to support a large-scale data center construction project in Red Oak, TX. This project is expected to last approximately 3-4 months, with the potential for extension and possible long-term opportunities based on business needs and performance.

Technicians will support the installation and deployment of fiber optic and copper cabling infrastructure within a fast-paced data center environment.

Schedule

• Night shift - Start time: 7:00 PM (subject to project requirements)
• Day shift - Start time: 7:00 AM (subject to project requirements)

Responsibilities

• Pull, route, and install fiber optic and copper cabling
• Install backbone fiber, including high-count fiber cabling
• Install and connect pre-terminated fiber into cassettes and related equipment
• Perform cable dressing, labeling, and cable management
• Complete fiber and copper terminations
• Assist with rack and stack activities
• Support fiber testing and troubleshooting activities
• Utilize testing equipment such as Fluke testers and OTDR equipment when required
• Maintain compliance with site safety standards and established installation procedures
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure quality installations and timely project completion

Required Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in data center cabling installation
• Experience pulling, routing, dressing, labeling, and terminating fiber optic and copper cabling
• Familiarity with rack and stack activities within a data center environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced construction or data center setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing and troubleshooting fiber or copper cabling using Fluke or OTDR equipment
• Previous experience supporting large-scale data center deployments

Job Type & Location

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
