Job summary

Qualifications

  • Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low‑voltage electronic systems.
  • Proficiency reading blueprints and schematics.
  • Knowledge of CAT5/CAT6 cabling, fiber optics, patch panels, and AV equipment.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, cable termination equipment, and PPE.
  • Understanding of telecommunications, security, fire alarm, and network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure low‑voltage cabling and electronic systems, including security, fire alarm, network, audio/visual, and access control systems.
  • Install and connect cables and wiring according to blueprints, schematics, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, and system testing to ensure reliable operation.
  • Troubleshoot system issues using diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve technical problems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of installations, materials used, testing results, and completed work for compliance and future reference.
  • Provide customer support by explaining system functionality, offering usage instructions, and recommending appropriate system solutions and cost estimates.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable safety standards, building codes, and industry regulations.
  • Perform system upgrades, retrofits, and reconditioning to support evolving customer and project requirements.
  • Travel to customer sites as needed to complete installations, maintenance, and service work.

We are seeking a Data Center Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot low-voltageelectronic systems in commercial, residential, institutional, and data center environments. Thisrole is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of systems includingsecurity, fire alarm, network cabling, audio/visual, and access control. The ideal candidate istechnically skilled, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or as part of a teamwhile delivering high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and configure low‑voltage cabling and electronic systems, including security, firealarm, network, audio/visual, and access control systems
  • Install and connect cables and wiring according to blueprints, schematics, specifications, andindustry standards
  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, and system testing to ensurereliable operation
  • Troubleshoot system issues using diagnostic equipment, including Fluke testers, to identify andresolve technical problems
  • Maintain accurate documentation of installations, materials used, testing results, and completedwork for compliance and future reference
  • Provide customer support by explaining system functionality, offering usage instructions, and recommending appropriate system solutions and cost estimates
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable safety standards, building codes, and industryregulations
  • Perform system upgrades, retrofits, and reconditioning to support evolving customer and projectrequirements
  • Travel to customer sites as needed to complete installations, maintenance, and service work
Required Qualifications
  • Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low‑voltage electronic systems
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Knowledge of low‑voltage installation methodologies, CAT5/CAT6 cabling, fiber optics, patchpanels, and audio/visual equipment
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, cable termination equipment, punch‑down tools, andappropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Understanding of telecommunications, security, fire alarm, and network infrastructure systems
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
  • Effective verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in commercial construction or technology infrastructure environments
  • Experience supporting projects in government facilities, schools, hospitals, residentialdevelopments, or data centers
  • Familiarity with industry certifications such as BICSI and OSHA
  • Experience performing system upgrades, retrofits, and preventive maintenance
  • Willingness to travel between job sites and participate in ongoing technical training to staycurrent with evolving low‑voltage technologies and industry standards
