TEKsystems is seeking Data Center Technicians at multiple levels in Ellendale, ND. This full-time, contract-to-hire role focuses on installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and operating data center hardware and network infrastructure to ensure availability and reliability for enterprise and cloud environments.

Responsibilities include rack and stack servers, cabling, monitoring, performing SOPs, change management, and maintaining asset records.

Qualifications

About the Role

We are seeking motivated and customer-focused Data Center Technicians across multiple experience levels to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of critical data center infrastructure. Successful candidates will play a key role in ensuring the availability, reliability, and scalability of server, network, and power systems supporting enterprise and cloud-based environments.

Responsibilities

All Levels

• Install, configure, rack, stack, and decommission servers, storage systems, and network equipment.

• Perform cable installation, management, labeling, and documentation.

• Monitor data center hardware and respond to operational alerts.

• Troubleshoot hardware failures and coordinate equipment replacement.

• Execute standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintenance windows, and change management activities.

• Maintain accurate inventory and asset tracking records.

• Support compliance, security, and environmental requirements within the data center.

Qualifications

Data Center Technician I

Required

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

• Basic understanding of computer hardware and networking concepts.

• Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.

• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.

Preferred

• Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

• CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent certification.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to work in hot and cold aisle environments.

• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Skills

• Linux and Windows Server fundamentals.

• Networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing.

• Structured cabling standards and best practices.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ellendale, ND.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
