Job summary

INSPYR Solutions seeks an experienced telecom cabling technician for Cheyenne, WY to install and pre-label copper and fiber cabling, racks, and pathways in active data centers. You will read blueprints, pre-plan resources, and perform terminations with Fluke/Viavi testing.

Minimum requirements include OSHA-10 or -30, confined-space experience, and a strong safety record. A reliable vehicle, low-voltage tools, and a valid driver's license are expected.

• Solid work ethic and reliability.
• Able to pass 11-panel drug screen and background check (no felonies).
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification required/ compliant.
• Competent person training for working at heights.
• Safety-focused approach to all work delivery with hazard mitigation.
• Owns low voltage tools and PPE; reliable vehicle; valid driver's license and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret cabling standards and blueprints.
• Install free-standing server racks and cabinets; run pathways and cabling.
• Pre-label copper and fiber cabling; terminate jacks and panels.
• Install cabling in active data centers; pull and dress copper and fiber cabling.
• Test installations with Fluke/Viavi equipment; troubleshoot and QA.
• Maintain safety standards and ensure on-time, collaborative work delivery.

Job description

• Tech 3 level
• Skill-set-
  • Can Communicate clearly and effectively
  • Demonstrates skillset and competency thorough understanding of cabling standards
  • Can read and understand blue prints
  • Can receive a subset of scope, review, and understand the necessary steps for pre-planning the personnel, materials and tools needed to complete the task deliverable
  • Can perform all work in a neat and quality manner
  • Builds Closest- can install free standing server racks and cabinets
  • Can place and install pathways- ladder raceway / fiber runner
  • Can accurately pre-label copper and fiber cabling and cordage.
  • Can safely and efficiently install cordage type cabling in an active data center
  • Can pull and dress cabling- Copper & Fiber both indoor and OSP
  • Possesses confined space certification and experience
  • Can terminate jacks and panels
  • Has proven skill in Referencing and testing on both the Fluke and Viavi tester platforms
  • Can breakout, prep, splice both indoor / outdoor Single strand and Ribbon fiber (12 – 3456 stand cables)
  • Has proficient experience in Active Data Center Operations
  • Has practical Telecom cabling experience in the Data Center construction environment
  • Has practical Telecom cabling experience in the Active Data Center environment
  • Has cable plant trouble shooting skills
  • Demonstrates ability to understand and exceed customer expectations
  • Can safely work at heights via a ladder, scaffold, man-lift
• Minimum requirements-
  • Has solid work ethics
  • Has State of Wyoming Low-voltage License - Preferable
  • Has Cheyenne Municipal Low-voltage License - Preferable
  • Can pass an 11-panel drug screen and background check- no felonies
  • Can demonstrate experienced track record of detailed proficiency in Safety adherence and compliance
  • Can show up to work, "on time" "WITH" tools and PPE, prepared for days activities
  • Has OSHA 10 (mandatory) or 30 (will work and comply with the OSHA-10 requirement)
  • Has competent person training and certification for working at heights
  • Has a safety centric focus on all aspect of work delivery
    • Has experience in hazard identification and experience in planning of mitigation techniques
  • Can safely lift 40-50 pounds utilizing proper lifting techniques without injury to self
  • Coachable- Takes direction well
  • Active listener- can put into action the coaching that is provided
  • Open to "constructive" criticism
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Has reliable vehicle
  • Has Driver's License in good standing
  • Has current automobile insurance
  • Must own low voltage tools, snips, cable strippers, screwdrivers, wrenches, punch tool etc.

  • Vaccinated a plus
