Job summary

Amazon is seeking a System Engineer for Data Center Central Operations Install to support capacity recovery and workflow improvements in AWS data centers. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to fix systemic issues and enable smooth hand-offs of capacity to local operations.

The role emphasizes reliability, automation, and security in a 24/7 production environment, with opportunities to contribute to data analytics and systemic improvements at scale.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in site reliability engineering (SRE), systems engineering, DevOps, security administration, or related fields.
• 5+ years of systems engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work.
• Experience with Linux and at least one of Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash.

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions to recover capacity for customers.
• Collaborate with support and systems engineers to push upstream fixes for capacity recovery.
• Own and improve global directed workflows enabling local teams to hand off capacity.
• Investigate defects in the capacity installation process and build mitigations.
• Contribute to data analytics to support the role.
• Analyze data and trends to identify defects across product life cycles.
