Responsibilities

To support the fast growth and manage the massive content on the platform, ByteDance's infrastructure team is building hyper-scale data centers globally that host hundreds of thousands of servers.

We are looking for a Site Acquisition Manager who will be responsible for leasing and acquiring datacenter capacity primarily in the Americas market.

The Datacenter Development team is responsible for site selection, acquisition and delivery. Our team is responsible for the end-to-end commercial activities of our data centers in the US and LATAM, spanning from early due diligence to operational support.

As the DC site acquisition manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Gather and evaluate market options, conduct investigations on key resources, devise strategies and eventually secure data center capacities to meet business demand.
  • Provide commercial aircover to our delivery team to ensure timely delivery of capacity to our businesses.
  • Work with cross-functional colleagues, such as legal, tax, finance, GR, to make informed recommendations to top management for data center investment, backed by our thorough investigation.
  • Provide commercial aircover to support operational-related needs.
  • Conduct energy cost analysis and drive initiatives to optimize the budget structure.
  • Conduct rightsizing and optimization initiatives as and when required.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or other relevant fields;
  • Organizational, coordination and project management with proven experience leading complex initiatives to successful completion in a timely manner
  • Proof track of record to lead significant data center deals to decision and execution. Deep insights in land development, various infra ownership and full life cycle management of infra deals.
  • Strong analytical, communication and negotiation skills. Executive communication and engagement experience.
  • High proficiency in Portuguese is required to communicate with stakeholders in Brazil

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in tech infrastructure procurement, supply chain management, construction or facility management.
  • Direct experience working in the LATAM market is a plus.
  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

Job Information

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $151050 - $258400 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
