Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Security Specialist (Individual Contributor) to join AWS AIS Data Center Operations in Leesburg, VA.

The role focuses on maintaining high security standards, managing contract employees, coordinating with vendors, and driving improvements across multiple facilities. You will analyze security metrics, enhance surveillance and access controls, educate occupants on alarm reduction, and produce security reports for leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience overseeing security operations and working with security vendors/contractors.
• Experience using computers and Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Drive operational security excellence across multiple facilities within a short driving distance.
• Identify and remediate security gaps and shortcomings promptly.
• Interface with vendors involved in security construction, repairs, daily operations and patrols.
• Extract metrics and observe improvements using hard data.
• Suggest improvements to electronic surveillance and access controls.
• Direct efforts to educate data centre occupants on false alarm reductions.
• Write and implement security processes and procedures.
• Write reports, create presentations and communicate status of physical security operations to management.
