Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Security Specialist (Individual Contributor) to lead security operations for AWS data centers.

You will manage contract guards, coordinate with vendors, and develop strategies to protect facilities while ensuring compliance with global standards. The role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams, data-driven security improvements, and the ability to travel up to half the work week to multiple sites within the region.

Qualifications

• Experience overseeing security operations and working with security vendors/contractors.
• Experience with access control and CCTV systems.
• Strong understanding of physical security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the activities of a professional contract guard force.
• Interface with vendors involved in system repairs and new security construction.
• Oversee vendor deliverables and request corrective actions as needed.
• Foster relationships to educate data center stakeholders on false alarm reductions.
• Extract metrics and observe improvements by analyzing data.
• Verify security programs meet global security standards.
• Develop strategies for improving surveillance and access controls.
• Draft reports and prepare presentations on security status.
• Collaborate with managers to write and implement security processes and procedures.
• Travel between local sites up to 50% of the workweek.
