Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI) is seeking a Safety Specialist - Data Center to join our on-site team in Cedar Rapids, IA. This role supports Project Safety by developing an Incident and Injury Free Culture and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

You will conduct field safety walks, assist with corrective action plans, and provide coaching to crew members. The position emphasizes collaboration with project leadership and safety leadership to drive continuous

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 Construction required.
• CPR/FA Certified (Trainer Preferred).
• STS and STSC certification preferred, along with other safety certifications.
• 0-2 years of construction safety experience (electrical safety experience preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluation of the effectiveness of safety programs through daily field walks.
• Support project-specific corrective action plans to address safety issues.
• Provide feedback to Safety leadership on observed safety improvements.
• Assist with coaching employees exhibiting unsafe behaviors and recognizing safe behaviors.
• Assist with job site safety orientations for new employees.
• Assist with basic safety training (HazCom, Fall Protection, Lockout/Tag-out).
• Support incident investigations and injury/illness case facilitation.
• Raise potential compliance risks to Safety leadership.
• Attend daily safety meetings and evaluate participation and effectiveness.
