Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to own the health and safety function for its data center area. You will partner with data center engineers to implement safety standards, conduct risk assessments, and advance safety culture while ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will lead audits, develop on-site emergency plans, track safety data, and collaborate with security, operations, logistics, compliance and HR to mitigate risks across rapidly changing infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• 3+ years of program requirements definition and data/metrics levers to drive improvements
• Experience handling confidential information
• Professional safety qualification or similar risk/compliance credentials

Responsibilities

• Implement health and safety standards, policies and practices including safety management systems, training, risk assessments and applicable safety regulations.
• Conduct health and safety audits of data centers and active construction sites for compliance with health, safety and life safety requirements.
• Ensure implementation of global health and safety programs that exceed regulatory requirements.
• Develop health and safety plans for on-site emergencies, business continuity and unique events.
• Maintain safety record keeping and data integrity.
• Perform data trend analysis to support leadership with safety initiatives.
• Consult with AWS compliance team for interpretations and guidance.
• Identify risks and work with Operations to remediate via the hierarchy of controls.
• Daily interactions with customers delivering health and safety guidance.
