Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to own the safety function for its data center area. You will improve safety, drive culture, and partner with engineers, security, operations, and HR to strengthen the program.

Lead safety audits, develop emergency plans, maintain records, and perform data analysis to guide leadership decisions. Role demands collaboration with compliance and onsite teams in a fast-changing cloud environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Experience handling confidential information
• Implement health and safety standards, policies and practices including but not limited to safety management systems, training, risk assessments, assist with industrial hygiene assessments, and applicable safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Implement health and safety standards, policies and practices including safety management systems, training, risk assessments, and safety regulations.
• Conduct health and safety audits of data centers and active construction sites for compliance with life safety requirements.
• Develop and ensure global health and safety programs meet regulatory requirements.
• Create on-site emergency and business continuity plans and maintain safety data records.
• Analyze data trends and present insights to cluster leadership to advance safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with AWS compliance for interpretations and guidance.
• Identify risks and coordinate with Operations to remediate using the hierarchy of controls.
• Interact daily with customers, providing health and safety guidance.
