Job summary

The Archetype Strategy is seeking a Data Center Redlining Technician to document field changes and update data center drawings. You will bridge installation teams and engineering to ensure all cabling, rack, and pathway changes are captured for as-built documentation.

Responsibilities include redlining rack elevations, floor layouts, and cable pathways; tracing A-to-B connectivity in fiber and copper; updating patch panel ports, switch connections, and rack positions; and flagging labeling

Qualifications

• Structured cabling experience and fiber tracing proficiency.
• Ability to interpret and update technical drawings accurately.
• Experience redlining data center drawings: rack elevations, floor layouts, cabling paths.
• Trace and document A-to-B connectivity for fiber and copper.
• Update patch panel port assignments, switch connections, and rack positions.
• Identify labeling discrepancies and undocumented cabling.
• Mark adds/moves/changes clearly on drawings.
• Collaborate with field technicians, PMs, and engineering/CAD teams.
• Capture field data using Bluebeam Revu and spreadsheets.

Job description

We are seeking aData Center Redlining Technicianto support cabling infrastructure projects by accurately documenting field changes and updating drawing markups (“redlines”). This role bridges the gap betweeninstallation teams and engineering, ensuring all cabling, rack, and pathway changes are captured and ready for as-built documentation.

The ideal candidate has strong experience instructured cabling, fiber tracing, and rack/patch panel environments, along with the ability to interpret and update technical drawings.

• Performredlining of data center drawingsincluding:
  • Rack elevations
  • Floor layouts
  • Cable pathways (ladder rack, tray, conduit)
• Trace and documentA-to-B cable connectivity(fiber and copper)
• Update:
  • Patch panel port assignments
  • Switch connections
  • Rack/unit (U) positions
• Identify and correct:
  • Labeling discrepancies
  • Missing or undocumented cabling
• Mark adds, moves, and changes (MAC work) clearly on drawings
• Work closely with:
  • Field technicians
  • Project managers
  • Engineering/CAD teams
• Capture field data using:
  • Markup tools (e.g.,Bluebeam Revu)
  • Spreadsheets and cable schedules
