Carter Machinery Co. Inc. is seeking a Data Center Project Manager to lead technical and commercial execution of Power Systems sales orders in South Bend, Indiana. You will ensure on-time delivery, maintain high gross margins, and maximize customer satisfaction while coordinating with engineers, contractors, and internal teams.

The role requires strong knowledge of BAS/BMS, protective relaying, and software tools listed, with travel as needed and a commitment to teamwork and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Two+ years' PM experience in industrial/electrical power generation projects.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• College degree in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects to execute Power Systems sales orders per specifications.
• Aim for maximum gross profit while ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and vendors; travel as required.
• Lead and mentor project teams; resolve conflicts efficiently.

Job Title: Data Center Project Manager

Location: South Bend, Indiana

Starting Compensation Range: $89,000 - $115,000 per year

The Data Center Project Manager is responsible for providing the technical knowledge and comprehensive management needed to execute Power Systems sales orders per project specifications in a manner that achieves maximum gross profit while promoting the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Requirements for the Data Center Project Manager position include:

• Basic knowledge of the following: BAS/BMS communication, Protective relaying, Breaker design and functionality, Modbus/Ethernet communication, Generator paralleling, Diesel engine operating requirements/room design, Fuel and Cooling systems, Emissions regulations and testing, applicable electrical and regulatory codes


• Functional competency on all associated software and operating systems, including Word, Excel, EBMS, Sales Force, DBS, Cat PowerNet, SIS-WEB, PSQ, Lotus Notes, EOMP, AutoCAD and Adobe Standard


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills


• Self-starter able to work with limited supervision


• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, required


• Strong leadership skills and a commitment to teamwork


• Must be able to multi-task while maintaining organized and detailed


• Experience in conflict resolution with contractors, consultants, engineers, vendors, utility companies, end-users, etc.


• Able to travel and work hours required for job and customer demand


• Must have an excellent driving record

Seeking Candidates with:

• Minimum two years' industrial/electrical power generation systems equipment project management experience


• High school diploma or equivalent


• College degree in related field, preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Required to stand; walk and talk or hear


• Frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl


• Occasionally lift and /or move up to 20 pounds


• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus
