Carter Machinery Co. Inc. in Elkridge, MD is hiring a Data Center Project Manager to provide technical knowledge and end-to-end project leadership for Power Systems orders.

You will manage project specs, drive profitability, and ensure top-tier customer satisfaction while coordinating with contractors, engineers and vendors. Requirements include a minimum of two years in industrial/electrical power generation project management, a high school diploma or equivalent, and ideally a related college

Qualifications

• Requires familiarity with BAS/BMS, protective relaying and electrical codes.
• Strong software/OS competency including Cat PowerNet and AutoCAD.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Self-starter able to work with limited supervision.
• Must have mechanical and electrical aptitude and strong leadership.
• Ability to travel as needed and maintain an excellent driving record.

Job description

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C., is hiring a Data Center Project Manager in Elkridge, Maryland. The Data Center Project Manager is responsible for providing the technical knowledge and comprehensive management needed to execute Power Systems sales orders per project specifications, achieving maximum gross profit while promoting the highest level of customer satisfaction. Candidates need a minimum of two years of industrial/electrical power generation systems equipment project management experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and ideally a college degree in a related field.

Requirements for the Data Center Project Manager position include:

• Basic knowledge of BAS/BMS communication, protective relaying, breaker design and functionality, Modbus/Ethernet communication, generator paralleling, diesel engine operating requirements/room design, fuel and cooling systems, emissions regulations and testing, and applicable electrical and regulatory codes.
• Functional competency on all associated software and operating systems, including Word, Excel, EBMS, Sales Force, DBS, Cat PowerNet, SIS-WEB, PSQ, Lotus Notes, EOMP, AutoCAD, and Adobe Standard.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self‑starter able to work with limited supervision.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude required.
• Strong leadership skills and a commitment to teamwork.
• Must be able to multi‑task while maintaining organization and detail.
• Experience in conflict resolution with contractors, consultants, engineers, vendors, utility companies, end‑users, etc.
• Able to travel and work hours required for job and customer demand.
• Must have an excellent driving record.

Physical requirements must be met for the Data Center Project Manager job, including regularly standing, walking, talking or hearing, sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Compensation Range

$90,000 to $105,000 yearly

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, candidate qualifications, education, geographic location, and other relevant business factors. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include a participation in an incentive program linked to performance such as discretionary incentive programs or non‑discretionary incentive plans, including overtime.
