Job summary

Daikin Applied seeks a Data Center Project Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate data center projects, including complex HVAC and controls construction for mission-critical facilities. Hybrid role located in Houston, TX, with leadership across planning, commissioning, and turnover to service teams.

The role requires 5+ years in data center or mission-critical projects, strong PM, and knowledge of Uptime Institute standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 5+ years progressive project management experience in commercial or industrial HVAC/mechanical construction.
• 2+ years dedicated experience managing mission-critical data center construction and/or commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Directs all phases of data center projects from planning through warranty, maintenance, and service transition.
• Leads pre-commissioning, IST, and Level 5 commissioning for critical cooling equipment with third-party agents.
• Plans and analyzes HVAC/mechanical construction projects, establishing schedules and budgets.
• Reviews scope, drawings, and specifications to determine timeframes, funding, and resources.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and safety standards, OSHA compliance for energized and confined-space work.
• Prepares proposals, reviews progress reports, and communicates status to management and clients.
• Maintains relationships with customers, contractors, and internal teams; manages turnover packages.
