Job summary

Actalent in Austin, TX is seeking an entry‑level Project Engineer to support commercial construction data center projects. The role offers hands‑on training, mentorship, and exposure to planning, coordination, and project controls in a fast‑paced environment.

You'll manage documentation, coordinate logistics, assist with budgeting and subcontract administration, and work with a cross‑functional team to keep projects moving from planning through closeout.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction management or project management within commercial environments.
• Hands-on experience with project coordination and project documentation (RFIs, change orders, submittals, QA/QC).
• Ability to manage project scheduling and productivity tracking using project controls.
• Basic understanding of HVAC systems and construction terminology.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, specs and drawings.
• Strong communication with customers, subs, vendors and internal teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines in a fast-paced jobsite.

Responsibilities

• Manage project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, ASIs, submittals, QA/QC, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution.
• Coordinate jobsite logistics such as material deliveries and site paperwork for smooth field operations.
• Support project estimating and budgeting, including PO and subcontract administration tracking.
• Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, customers and internal teams to resolve issues and keep work progressing.
• Maintain and update project schedules, productivity tracking and other project controls to monitor performance.
• Attend project meetings and contribute to day-to-day coordination from planning through closeout.
• Assist with QA/QC processes by organizing documentation and supporting adherence to standards.
• Apply basic understanding of HVAC systems to interpret project requirements and support coordination.
