Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a procurement professional to develop and execute sourcing strategies for data center construction.

You will analyze market trends, manage RFPs, and negotiate contracts with general contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers. The role requires strong data analysis (Excel/SQL/Tableau) and at least 6 years in procurement, including construction-related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of related industry experience.
• Experience with procurement practices: category management, benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auctions, contracting.
• Experience negotiating with global suppliers and reducing costs.
• At least 5 years of data analysis using Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL or Tableau.
• Experience in program/project/product management or leading product implementation.
• At least 5 years of procurement of construction services and materials.
• Masters degree preferred.
• Experience in data centers, infrastructure services or related tech companies preferred.
• Procurement experience with engineering teams, supply chain partners, and Tier 1 OEMs preferred.
• Strong analytical, detail-oriented communication or customer service skills preferred.
• Experience coordinating construction scopes across development and construction stages.
• Familiarity with engineering principles for data center construction and sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for construction services.
• Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and competitive landscapes.
• Manage RFPs for data center construction scopes with GC, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships to improve efficiency.
• Establish supplier performance metrics and accountability mechanisms.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
• Work with cross-functional teams to develop sourcing approaches and make data-informed decisions.
• Prioritize activities that support data center capacity availability and safety.
• Contribute to projects at local and global levels.
