Rackspace Technology, Inc. in Ashburn, VA seeks a Data Center Operations Technician IV to own IT infrastructure within the data center and ensure 99.999% uptime. The role covers hardware, operating systems, storage, and network cabling, on a 2nd shift schedule (3pm-2am EST, Tue-Fri).

You will monitor ticketing queues, perform OS installs, upgrade storage, and support servers across Windows, Red Hat, Ubuntu, and VMware ESX. Physical lifting is required.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in a data center environment.
• Able to build, repair or upgrade hardware components.
• Strong understanding of storage RAID configurations and requirements.
• Peer leadership experience.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and prioritize internal ticketing system to provide customer support.
• Provide basic OS storage troubleshooting and storage upgrades.
• Hardware support and upgrades for servers running Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu, or VMware ESX.
• Perform simple OS administration tasks including network IP setup, fresh OS installs via PXE, firmware updates and basic troubleshooting.
• Install or remove fiber or copper cabling and test connectivity with existing cabling.
• Install network device hardware including switches, firewalls, load-balancers and security appliances.
• Install hardware on storage devices including DAS and NAS arrays.
• Complete customer maintenance requests including hardware modification and cabling within cabinets.

The compensation range for this position ranges from $67,568.00/year in our lowest geographic market up to $99,137.50/year in our highest geographic market.
