Job Description: The Data Center Operations Technician I is a 24x7x365, market-based position responsible for providing physical and Level II technical support to Flexential customers and resources. A solid understanding of Facilities infrastructure, Windows operating systems, PC troubleshooting, and management applications is required. The technician must demonstrate professionalism and technical competence during interactions with customers and internal resources.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  1. Provide timely resolution and escalation of Facility and customer issues.
  2. Maintain professionalism and conduct in data center duties.
  3. Troubleshoot and document technical issues using Flexential ticketing system.
  4. Follow Flexential policies, processes, and procedures.
  5. Provide local access and escort for vendors and carriers.
  6. Perform remote hands work for internal and external customers.
  7. Support 24/7 operations, flexible to work any shift.
  8. Assist with physical and logical installations of services.
  9. Maintain cleanliness of Data Center and surrounding areas.
  10. Perform Facilities Rounds and escalate relevant information.
  11. Handle inbound and outbound shipping/receiving.
  12. Operate and manage Badge Access Security System.
  13. Assist Critical Infrastructure Manager as needed.
  14. Maintain cabling and inventory levels in collaboration with local management.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Passion for delivering excellent customer service.
  • Understanding of Windows and Microsoft Operating systems.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and deadline management.
  • Preferably 1 year experience in IT support environment.
  • Educational qualifications: AA, BS, or High School Diploma.
  • Certifications: Network +, Security +, CCNA preferred; MCP or MCSA preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
  • Work in cold environments.
  • Manoeuver pallet jacks and lift heavy objects.
  • Pull and install cabling.

Compensation: Hourly salary range is estimated to be $19.72 - $22.00, depending on experience, location, and qualifications.

Safety Hazards include: Electrical, ergonomics, ladder climbing, mechanical lift, noise, temperature extremes, trip/fall risks.
