Job summary

Lambda (Salt Lake City) is seeking a Data Center Operations System Engineer to ensure proper racking, labeling, cabling, and configuration of data center infrastructure. The role requires troubleshooting complex hardware and software issues, maintaining DCIM-based documentation, and coordinating with supply chain for large-scale deployments.

Ideal candidates will be fluent in English and Spanish, with strong attention to detail and willingness to travel to new data center locations.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with critical data center infrastructure systems, including power distribution, airflow management, environmental monitoring, capacity planning, DCIM software, structured cabling, and cable management.
• Professional fluency in both English and Spanish.
• High attention to detail and ability to follow complex technical instructions precisely.
• Willingness to travel to support the initialization and turn-up of new data center locations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all new server, storage, and network infrastructure is properly racked, labeled, cabled, and configured per standards.
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues across enterprise systems.
• Maintain documentation of data center layouts and topology in DCIM software.
• Collaborate with supply chain and manufacturing to deploy systems and execute project plans for large-scale initiatives.
• Oversee parts depot inventory and track equipment lifecycle in each facility.
• Partner with Hardware Support to resolve data center infrastructure tickets.
• Coordinate with the RMA to ensure replacements are ordered efficiently.
• Adhere to installation standards and labeling/cabling documentation for consistency.
