Job summary

Lambda is seeking a Data Center Operations System Engineer for its Salt Lake City data center. You will manage servers, storage, and network infrastructure, troubleshoot hardware, and maintain DCIM records, supporting fast-growing AI workloads.

You will collaborate with supply chain and manufacturing teams to deploy systems and oversee inventory, while traveling to initialize new data center locations as needed.

Job description

Lambda is an AI cloud infrastructure company serving tens of thousands of customers. This role is a Data Center Operations System Engineer based in the Salt Lake City data center, responsible for managing server, storage, and network infrastructure operations, hardware troubleshooting, and inventory management in a fast-growing AI infrastructure environment.

What You'll Do

• Rack, label, cable, and configure new server, storage, and network infrastructure according to organizational standards
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues across enterprise systems
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of data center layouts and network topologies within DCIM software
• Collaborate with supply chain and manufacturing teams to deploy systems and execute large-scale infrastructure initiatives
• Oversee parts depot inventory and track equipment lifecycle from delivery through deployment across data center facilities
• Partner with Hardware Support and RMA teams to resolve support tickets and manage defective component returns and replacements

What You Need

• Familiarity with critical data center infrastructure systems including power distribution, airflow management, environmental monitoring, capacity planning, DCIM software, structured cabling, and cable management
• Professional fluency in English and Spanish
• High attention to detail with proven ability to follow complex technical instructions precisely
• Proactive work ethic with strong commitment to continuous professional development
• Willingness to travel to support initialization and turn-up of new data center locations

Nice to Have

• Prior experience troubleshooting enterprise server hardware
• Demonstrated knowledge of network topology and architecture
• Familiarity with enterprise ticketing platforms such as JIRA and Zendesk
• Hands-on experience with Linux system administration
• Experience working within large-scale, distributed data center environments
• Technical experience with Supermicro and NVIDIA hardware infrastructure
