Job summary

Google is seeking a Hardware Operations Manager to lead a team of Data Center Technicians responsible for installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining server hardware and components. You will oversee complex installations and ensure reliability across networks and AI infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience managing site wide or inter-site technical teams in charge of installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, or maintaining hardware servers and its components.
• 5 years of experience in site-level data center operational leadership.
• 5 years of experience developing and managing managers.
• Experience with process optimization, risk modeling, and performance management (e.g., KPIs/SLO attainment).
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including working weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules as required.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of Data Center Technicians and Leaders ensuring quality installation and maintenance of server hardware and components.
• Oversee configuration, testing, troubleshooting of hardware and server software (Linux cluster) and complex networks.
• Lead small project teams on larger installations and develop contingency plans.
• Own outcomes for deployment and ongoing maintenance involving networks, storage, compute and AI infrastructure, while guiding high-risk operational transitions.
