Job summary

Google LLC in Council Bluffs, IA, seeks a Data Center Operations Manager to lead the hardware and network infrastructure behind Google’s search technology. You will direct Data Center Technicians, install and maintain server hardware, Linux clusters, and complex networking components, and drive high-level installations and troubleshooting.

You will guide cross-functional teams, drive data-driven improvements, and ensure projects meet budget, timelines and resource needs, while advancing safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or hardware.
• 5 years of experience managing technical, vendor, contract management, or delivery teams.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, nights, holidays and shift-based schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Data Center Technicians overseeing infrastructure, servers and networking.
• Partner with teams to meet goals and manage facility activities and strategies.
• Maintain and execute security and operational procedures; analyze trends for improvements.
• Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and infrastructure.
• Support Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and other compliance initiatives.
