About the job

The Hardware Operations team is responsible for monitoring the physical infrastructure behind Google's powerful search technology.

In this role, you will manage a team of Data Center Technicians. You will oversee the quality installation of server hardware and components and take charge of installations/troubleshooting. You will install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware such as servers and its components and server software such as Google's Linux cluster. You will also take on the configuration of more components such as networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches and networking protocols. You will lead small project teams on larger installations and develop project contingency plans.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $105,000-$151,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day management of teams within data center operations.
• Work together to identify and resolve problems and create solutions for our global computing and network architecture.
  
• Manage the implementation of projects within the team.Communicate priorities and facilitate hand-off of operations to following shift leads.
• Hire, coach and develop a team while achieving business goals. Demonstrate the ability to implement and drive the safety culture at the site, while fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Ensure data center-related priorities are consistent with company goals.
