Job summary

Edged Data Centers at the EDC Atlanta Campus in Atlanta, GA seeks an experienced facilities technician to support operations and safety programs. The role covers maintaining critical infrastructure, monitoring systems, and providing on-site technical support to customers and contractors.

Responsibilities include safety compliance, maintenance of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and fire/life safety systems, and collaboration with IT and operations teams to ensure minimal downtime and smooth project

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; technical certification in mechanical/electrical systems preferred.
• 1–3 years in data centers, IT support, facilities, or technical environments.
• Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.
• Physically demanding role; ability to stand, bend, kneel for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety, security, and compliance requirements including JHAs and local regulations.
• Identify unsafe conditions, escalate promptly, and take corrective actions.
• Participate in meetings, shift turnovers, and required training for compliance.
• Operate, monitor, and maintain electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and fire/life safety systems.
• Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance per MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs.
• Document work in CMMS and ensure tasks meet standards.
• Respond to abnormal equipment conditions and stabilize systems.
• Troubleshoot facility and IT equipment; escalate when needed.
• Support incident reporting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure vendor/contractor activities are safe, within scope, and compliant.
• Provide on-site support for customers, vendors, and contractors with technical assistance.
• Collaborate with internal ops teams to align on projects.
