Job summary

DigitalOcean in the Atlanta area is seeking a Data Center Manager to own end‑to‑end operations of the ATL data center. You will lead technicians and engineers to ensure uptime, safety, and efficiency, while coordinating with facilities, capacity planning, and vendors on deployments and improvements.

You will collaborate with data center architects and cloud product teams to align infrastructure with customer and platform needs.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years in data center operations with 3+ years in team leadership.
• Deep technical knowledge of data center systems—compute, storage, networking, airflow/liquid cooling.
• Experience with GPU deployments; knowledge of liquid cooling or high‑density rack solutions is a plus.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, power distribution, UPS and cooling design principles.
• Hands‑on experience with data center health monitoring, rack design, structured cabling, and server manageability tools.
• Experience using Jira and Kanban to visualize work and improve flow.
• Strong leadership, goal setting, and culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
• Global mindset; comfortable coordinating across time zones.
• On‑call for escalations outside of business hours.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet during extended work sessions.

Responsibilities

• Manage on‑site operations of the ATL data center, overseeing a team of technicians and engineers to ensure uptime and safety.
• Lead and mentor a distributed team across the ATL location; manage staffing, scheduling, performance, and career development.
• Oversee deployment, maintenance, and optimization of compute, storage, and networking infrastructure—including liquid cooling systems.
• Manage the physical infrastructure environment—power delivery, airflow, and liquid cooling; coordinate with facilities and capacity planning teams.
• Collaborate with data center architects, cloud product owners, and regional leads to align infrastructure with evolving customer needs.
• Work with Supply Chain, Asset Management, and Capacity Management to ensure component readiness and rapid deployment.
• Use Jira and Kanban to manage day‑to‑day tasks and improve throughput and accountability.
• Monitor KPIs and report progress to leadership; act as local escalation point.
