Job summary

Switch is seeking a Network Infrastructure Technician I to support daily operation and reliability of data center network infrastructure in a fast-paced environment. You will perform hands-on installation, testing, and troubleshooting of structured cabling and related hardware following defined procedures and safety standards.

Responsibilities include cabling installation, testing, ticketing, and collaboration with vendors and customers.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in telecom, data center ops, or IT support.
• Proficient with CAT 3/5/6, fiber types, and cabling standards.
• Able to troubleshoot Layer 1 connectivity and basic hardware issues.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, label, and maintain copper, fiber, and coax cabling.
• Build and modify cable support systems (ladder rack, tray, J hooks).
• Install and replace field replaceable units (drives, memory, optics, power).
• Perform basic hardware setup and access using terminal tools.
• Test cabling and document results with standard tools.
• Create and maintain design/layout records for completed work.
• Respond to routine alerts, follow escalation procedures, and document actions in tickets.
• Escort vendors and on-site customers as needed.
