Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Network Build Manager to lead a team of engineers supporting the Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) regions and oversee data center expansion and remote management facilities.

The role requires strong people leadership, strategic direction, and the ability to drive automation to improve delivery times while preserving network availability. As part of AWS Infrastructure Services, you will help raise safety and security standards and scale

Qualifications

• 2+ years of people management and team development experience.
• 3+ years in a data center technology role with TCP/IP networking, cabling, optics and test equipment.
• 3+ years of work in a management position with 5+ direct reports.
• 5+ years of work in data centers with emphasis on building and equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and assign tasks to design engineers and project managers, coaching and creating documentation.
• Manage projects across multiple AWS regions to ensure just in time delivery of new data center spaces.
• Manage the installation of network and cabling infrastructure in a data center environment
• Guide, train and educate staff on the best practices related to all service owner issues
• Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and to meet required SLAs
• Provide weekly report to project stakeholders
• Coordinate team resources to support project and delivery needs, to include emergency projects, change management and maintenance window support, and potential off-hours support. Recruit and train engineers to ensure appropriate staffing levels and host weekly staff meetings and drive compliance to Amazon performance management requirements
