Job summary

ByteDance's global data center operation team seeks an experienced Data Center Infrastructure Engineer to design and review MEP electrical and cooling systems for hyperscale campuses. You will influence global standards for performance, availability, security, and cost, and work across teams to deliver scalable, reliable infrastructure.

You will lead or influence design and testing discussions, ensure conformance with TIA-942 and Uptime Tier 3 standards, and support commissioning from concept

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of power and cooling calculations to determine capacity.
• Understanding of 2N or N+1 redundant design concepts.
• Experience leading design teams in data center projects.
• Familiarity with data center tiering standards (TIA-942, Uptime).
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams on design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Participate and review Data Center MEP design for new builds and fitouts.
• Participate in testing and commissioning discussions to verify design elements.
• Support DC Engineering FM team to overcome design limitations and risks.
• Conduct periodic audits to assess design effectiveness in-use.
• Explain data center infrastructure design to visitors as ambassador.
• Continuously collaborate to enhance MEP design for future needs.
• Maintain positive working relations with partner teams, vendors, and customers.
