Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Mechanical Start-Up and Commissioning Specialist to deliver energized commissioning and startup services for mechanical and utility systems within the data center sector. You will develop start-up plans, create commissioning documentation, and execute plans for hyperscale and enterprise facilities.

The role emphasizes collaboration, rigorous adherence to industry best practices, and the ability to coordinate with OEM technicians and construction teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree.
• 5+ years of Start-Up and Commissioning experience in the data center industry or mission-critical facilities.
• Understanding of data center mechanical systems and cooling requirements. Understanding of industry standards and best practices for mechanical commissioning.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel and work at various clients' locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Start-Up and Commissioning Plan development and execution strategies.
• Develop Start-Up and Commissioning Plans for all mechanical systems.
• Prepare Start-Up and Commissioning documents per industry best practices.
• Coordinate with OEM service technicians and construction management as needed.
• Apply HVAC, cooling, and building automation knowledge to support clients.
