Our client is seeking an experienced Data Center Mechanical QA/QC Specialist to join a dedicated field engineering team supporting quality assurance, quality control, and commissioning (Cx) oversight for large-scale, mission-critical data center construction projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform proactive daily field walkdowns and independent QA/QC inspections across mechanical installations (CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, VFDs, pumps, hydronic piping, and TAB verification).
- Conduct pre-functional verification, review Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) results, and audit trade inspection checklists to confirm equipment readiness for startup and functional testing.
- Work closely with the Energy Marshall, general contractors, and trade partners to ensure strict Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols and safety verifications are completed prior to energization and system testing.
- Identify non-conformances, issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), track punch lists, and manage corrective actions/retesting through resolution.
- Prepare, maintain, and audit QA/QC records, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), MOPs, and test verification packages within project management software.
- Partner with client representatives, engineering teams, and trade contractors to maintain schedule alignment, report progress, and mitigate project risks.
SKILLS
- 3+ years of direct QA/QC or commissioning experience in data center, mission-critical, or large-scale industrial construction environments.
- 5+ years of total field construction or inspection experience.
- Deep knowledge of mechanical system installation, TAB (Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing), hydronic systems, and HVAC controls, alongside a working understanding of supporting electrical and BMS integration.
- Proficiency with construction and commissioning platforms such as CxAlloy, Bluebeam, Procore, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards (ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA).
