Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Project Manager / Owner's Representative – Data Center Mechanical Engineering SME to lead planning, design, construction, commissioning, and handover of mission-critical data center projects.

You will provide mechanical systems leadership (HVAC, cooling plants, CRAH/CRAC units, chilled water) and manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, and stakeholder communications while coordinating with clients, designers, contractors, and commissioning teams to ensure successful

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years delivering mission-critical data center, industrial, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of data center mechanical systems, cooling technologies, and redundancy strategies.
• Experience as Owner's Representative, Project Manager, Design Manager, or Mechanical Engineering lead.
• Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams, consultants, and contractors.
• Familiarity with commissioning, testing, and operational readiness processes.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• PMP, PE, CxA, or related certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent the client's interests throughout all phases of data center development and delivery.
• Provide SME guidance for mechanical systems including HVAC, cooling plants, CRAH/CRAC units, and chilled water infrastructure.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, and stakeholder communications.
• Review mechanical designs, specs, calculations, and submittals for compliance.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and commissioning providers.
• Monitor construction progress, quality, safety, and adherence to standards.
• Lead technical issue resolution and support value engineering initiatives.
• Support testing, commissioning, startup, and turnover activities.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation to maintain delivery objectives.
• Provide regular project reporting and executive updates.
