Job summary

Meta seeks a Mechanical Subject Matter Expert to design, operate and improve mechanical systems across its global data center infrastructure. Qualifications

• 7+ years in mechanical industry or equivalent experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 3+ years of experience acceptable in lieu of 7+ years.
• Experience in critical environments.
• Ability to read blueprints/CAD drawings.
• Ability to interpret mechanical plans and equipment drawings.
• Knowledge of psychrometric charts and refrigeration cycles.
• Strong understanding of mechanical equipment design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing.
• Familiarity with critical facility operations and procedure-based work.
• Knowledge of electrical, controls and fire/life safety systems.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Serve as onsite technical resource for mechanical infrastructure systems and equipment, with emphasis on field operation.
• Ensure cross-functional collaboration between local mechanical team and applicable local/global teams.
• Contribute to mechanical safety program for the site.
• Plan work procedures covering troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance with risk focus.
• Troubleshoot, repair, retrofit, and maintain mechanical equipment.
• Oversee system configurations and upgrades with change control.
• Provide QA/QC oversight of construction projects & maintenance activity.
• Lead or participate in root-cause analysis activities.
• Provide training to Critical Facility Engineers and cross-functional teams on equipment and procedures.
• Manage vendor relationships for mechanical maintenance and retrofit work.
• Provide feedback on global maintenance strategies and design improvements.
• Travel during onboarding; later 10-15% travel.
