Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to maintain and optimize data center and critical facility HVAC and mechanical systems in the United States. You will design, analyze, troubleshoot, and support system reliability, safety, and environmental compliance, mentoring junior engineers.

The role involves developing a systems roadmap, evaluating instruments and control schemes including PLCs, performing root-cause analyses, and coordinating with operations to implement long-term improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• 3+ years of field experience with mechanical systems such as HVAC, fans, boilers, chillers, pumps, piping, valves.
• Control systems experience (instrumentation, PLCs, etc.).
• 3+ years’ experience supporting data centers and/or advanced laboratories (preferred).
• Mentoring and leading technical teams within critical environments or large-scale facilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the availability, reliability, and maintenance of mechanical and HVAC systems essential to data centers, labs, and facility operations.
• Support safety, reliability, and environmental compliance objectives.
• Design and analyze mechanical systems, troubleshoot issues, and provide evaluations and solutions.
• Develop scopes of work for mechanical projects, conduct feasibility studies, and review designs.
