Job summary

Hanley Energy is seeking a Field Technician to visit customer sites and troubleshoot mechanical equipment in hyperscale data center environments. You will work with teams and stakeholders to meet key objectives and complete technical documentation.

The role requires 1–2 years of mechanical systems experience, a technical degree, strong diagnostic skills, and willingness to travel up to 25%. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of industry experience with mechanical systems including heat exchangers, air handlers, pumps, fans, valves and controls instrumentation.
• Technical degrees/certifications in relevant fields (STEM, MEP, SCADA).
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience commissioning HVAC, cooling, or critical infrastructure systems.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in teams.
• Willingness to travel is required (No more than 25%).
• Knowledge of IRHX/Heat Exchanger systems and heat transfer principles (preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings (preferred).
• Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and controls integration (preferred).
• Knowledge of LV electrical systems and safe isolation procedures (preferred).
• Experience performing functional testing, start-up, and commissioning activities (preferred).
• Understanding of data center cooling infrastructure (preferred).
