Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking skilled chiller mechanics to support cutting-edge HVAC service across North America. You will work on air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, boilers, and large-scale systems in mission-critical facilities.

The role emphasizes startup, commissioning, aftersales service, and quotes, with factory certification through our STA program and safety training. A company vehicle and continuous training are provided.

Formación

• Practical experience with air-cooled and/or water-cooled chillers and industrial chillers.
• EPA refrigerants license and relevant state/local licensing.
• Must be willing to join or be a member of UA Local.

Responsabilidades

• Troubleshoot and repair large-capacity chillers, boilers, and related systems.
• Lead complex repairs, retrofits, and startup/commissioning activities.
• Provide quotes and support for service work and aftersales.
• Travel 10–20% to support branch startup, commissioning, and field service.
• Operate safely with company safety protocols and OEM guidelines.

How will you do it

• We are looking for skilled HVAC Technicians who have experience with air cooled and/or water-cooled chillers, Industrial chillers and boilers.
• We provide factory certification through our Service Technical Academy (STA) with recognition, monetary rewards, and advancement.

• Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

What we look for

Required

• Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
• Be a dedicated member of a North America Branch team willing to learn and be responsible for startup, commissioning, and aftermarket services for this fast-growing business.
• Practical working experience on air cooled and/or water-cooled chillers, industrial chillers, AHU's or large roof top ducted units with strong HVAC/ mechanical troubleshooting experience.
• Can lead large complex repairs, jobs or retrofits.
• Able to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, absorption chillers, screw chillers and/or ammonia / hydrocarbon system components
• Maintain ammonia and hydrocarbon safety training certification.
• Extensive experience in HVAC systems, (Chilled water loops, Pumping, Compressor enthalpy, Compressor trouble shooting and rebuild.
• Mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators, lasers, etc. of pumps, fans, Compressors.
• Able to use vibration equipment to trouble shoot compressor drivelines.
• Proficient in the operations, trouble shooting and repair of large tonnage chiller 460 vac VSD's and medium voltage 4160 vac VSDs.
• Proficient in multiple OEM chiller panels and controllers.
• Able to trouble shoot industrial Allen Bradley control systems and adjust.
• Travel maybe required 10% to 20% to support Branch Customers startup and commissioning activities as well as aftermarket service trouble shooting.
• You will work with other local market mechanics and when necessary, provide on the job training and or will participate and be a leader in local relevant classroom training for other Technicians.
• Able to provide quotes to customers and participate in JCI's Service Plus Rewards program.
• Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and valid driver's license

Pay Range: $47.68 hourly ratedeterminedby the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
