The role focuses on solving complex technical challenges, driving operational excellence, and ensuring the reliability of AWS infrastructure. You will lead engineers, manage data center operations, and collaborate with vendors to maintain performance and safety standards while enabling new facilities.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of technical team management experience.
• 4+ years of experience in a data center technology role and/or 4+ years of knowledge with networking or computer hardware.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing and developing teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise to ensure high performance.
• Maintaining existing data centers.
• Building and bringing new data centers online.
• Constantly improving processes and procedures to enhance operational metrics.
• Assisting and managing relationships with external vendors and contractors.
• Liaising with internal teams and management groups.
• Ensuring adherence to and exceeding local Health & Safety standards.
• Creating and maintaining metrics on all aspects of data centers and using them to drive positive changes.
• Assisting in implementing service methodologies such as incident, problem, change, and capacity management.

Essential Requirements

• Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed.
• Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational.
• Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of assigned facility.
• Candidates must be able to travel over 50 miles or commute less than 50 miles to active data center sites as required.

Basic Qualifications

• 4+ years of technical team management experience.
• 4+ years of experience in a data center technology role and/or 4+ years of knowledge with networking or computer hardware.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in technical writing in a relevant field.
• Experience contributing to the definition and implementation of automation opportunities within an operations environment.
• 2+ years of previous Data Center Management experience.
• Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience.
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.

Salary

Base salary range: $107,700.00 – $188,500.00 per year (USA, VA, Sterling). Final compensation includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs) and is determined by experience, qualifications, and location.
