Job summary

Core Scientific seeks an experienced Journeyman Electrician for on-site data center operations. The role involves diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment across multiple data centers, with responsibilities spanning preventive maintenance, wiring, testing, and coordination with teams.

Requires 7+ years in the electrical trade, NEC knowledge, and an unlimited license. On-site work with minimal travel is expected in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in the electrical trade.
• Formal vocational school training in the fundamentals of the electrical trade.
• Unlimited electrical or contractor's license.
• Must have a valid drivers license.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to follow directions and work autonomously.
• Experience operating a variety of equipment including forklifts, scissor lifts, and small hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform lighting preventative maintenance.
• Perform battery preventative maintenance and inverter testing on battery backups for lights.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures according to NEC and local codes.
• Inspect electrical systems, components, and equipment to identify hazards, defects, and necessary repairs.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform corrective maintenance.
• Plan and lay out electrical wiring, conduit, and fixtures based on blueprints and job specifications.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using meters.
• Maintain spill prevention kits for generators, substations, etc.
• Oversee team scheduling and material requisition.
